The Safari Jumpsuit

Bringing the safari to the city!

This is one of my favorite drapings.

I was looking forward to creating a Safari Inspired piece that would be functional and utilitarian but also slinky and eye catching.

 Ruffles Belted

Dress

This drape has sentimental value. It was the final project for my first Draping class in Fashion School

It consists of a boxy shape mini dress, to which I applied flared sleeves, three rows of ruffles, oversized cargo pockets with ornamental stitching and vinyl casing, as well as a belt to accentuate the waist and and elevate the femininity of this garment.

Sewing the Notch collar Blazer

While its not "a must" to be a  seamstress to be a good Fashion Designer, I do enjoy sewing.

Sewing is bringing to life a design. It is as important as the ideation and the materials; and it has a major impact on the quality of the garments. In that sense mastering my sewing technique is skill that I value as it's an area where I want to be able to

communicate with whom may be sewing my designs

Draping amid COVID-19

Challenge forces us to reinvent ourselves and look for creative solutions where we didn't searched before.

Besides the inconveniences of readjusting to a new reality, the shutdown come with an extra challege  The closing of all our supply stores. Whatever we had before the

shutdown had to last for the rest of the semester.

Project consisted of draping a jacket. with a notched collar. Fabric dyes, tapestry fabric, shower curtains found a purpose on my drape.

It was a challenging yet rewarding experience.
